Prachuapkhirikhan " The Land of eco treasure "
The Provincial name, Prachuab Khiri Khan,indicates an area with arange of mountains It is the western
province which acts as the geteway to the south.
This is because its southern boundary connects with Chumporn while its northern boundary extends to
Amphur Cha-Am District in Petchburi Province. To the west,the border unites Thailand with
neighbouring Myanmar, and on the eastern side is the Gulf of Thailand.
Prachuab Khiri Khan is situated just 323 kilometres from Bangkok and is a province with a long, narrow
terrain, with the narrowest point of just 12kilometres at Ban Khlong Waan being the narrowest in
Thailand.
From head to toe is stacked north or south of the next and hemmed in by the sea to the east and the
Tanaowsri Mountains to the west, giving rise to a beautiful variety of nature including both sandy
beaches and mountains, islands, caves,streams, waterfalls and rich, fertile forests. However the jewel
in the crown and biggest sourceof pride to the people of Prachuab Khiri Khan is "WangKlai Kang Won"
Palace, whice as its name "Palace far from worries" suggests, guarantees the beauty and tranquility of
